The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF), while carrying out 10 operations across the country, managed to recover 643 kg of drugs and arrested 10 accused, including a woman, a spokesperson for the ANF headquarters said on Thursday.
He informed that 643 kg of drugs worth over Rs 80 million were recovered from the possession of 10 accused, including a woman arrested from different areas.
Around 2.4 kg of hashish was recovered from the possession of a nearly arrested accused near an educational institution located in Chaklala Scheme 3, Rawalpindi.
Meanwhile, another 170 grams of hashish was recovered from an accused detained near a university in Peshawar.
In the third operation, 97 grams of hashish was recovered from the possession of a drug peddler caught in a slum near a school in Faisalabad.
About 200 narcotic pills were recovered from two suspects arrested in two operations near a college and a university in the satellite city of Quetta.
The arrested accused confessed to supplying drugs to students of educational institutions.
The spokesperson further informed that in another operation, 24 kg of opium and 2.4 kg of hashish were recovered from a vehicle intercepted near Islamabad Toll Road and an accused was arrested.
Another 2.4 kg of hashish was recovered from an accused who was riding a motorcycle on Rawat Road, Rawalpindi.
Meanwhile, ANF personnel also recovered 244.8 kg of opium and 357.6 kg of hashish from a vehicle that was intercepted near Samundri Interchange Faisalabad. During the operation at least two suspects were arrested.
In another operation, 66 grams of heroin was recovered from a parcel booked for Maldives at a courier office located on Faisal Road, Karachi.
In the final operation, 8 kg of hashish was recovered from an accused arrested near Qasim Chowk in Hyderabad.
Separate cases have been registered under the Anti-Narcotics Act against the arrested accused and further investigation is underway.
