Arch Manning and the Texas Longhorns sit at the top of the first preseason university soccer survey by Associty Press, since the classifications were released on Monday.
Manning is entering his first season as the Marshal of the starting field, assuming the position of Quinn Eweers, who chose to turn Pro and enter the NFL draft. It is the first time that Lonhorns occupy the number 1 position in the AP preseason survey.

It is far from an easy task to be voted as team number 1 in the nation and maintain that undefeated record to the University Soccer playoff.
For the Longhorns, it will be almost impossible from the beginning. Texas will begin its season on August 30 on the way against Ohio State. The Buckeyes occupied the number 3 in the first survey and entered the 2025 season as national defenders. Texas also has Florida and Georgia in his SEC file this season. Bulldogs are number 5 in the survey and the gators are number 15.
Penn State took place number 2 in the nation. Drew Allar returns to lead the Nittany Lions under the center. Nicholas Singleton will be in the field to provide additional fire on the ground. The defensive wing Dani Dennis-Sutton will lead the defense position.

Ohio State will return Jeremiah Smith and Caleb Downs to his list. The team will probably begin with the first year student of Red T -shirt Julian Sayin as the Marshal of Field Field.
Clemson is the best classified AC team in the AP survey. Dabo Swinney team returns Cade Klubnik in the Quarterback position. It could be one of the first players taken in the NFL draft next year. TJ Parker and Peter Woods anchor the defensive line for the tigers.
Georgia will always be a threat to win the National Championship with Kirby Smart to the helm. The team suffered a series of injuries at the end of the 2024 season, which probably cost them the title’s opportunity. The Bulldogs return with Gunner Stockton in the center and the Open Receptors Noah Thomas and Zachariah Branch as broad reception objectives.
