- The next iPad pro is rumored that has thinner bezels to date
- The change could come from the adoption of the OLED LG Chip-on-Film Panel
- The timeline for the redesign is still clear
Apple’s iPad Pro could prepare for an even more elegant design. A new rumor suggests that the next -generation OLED Pro will have the thinnest bezels of any Apple tablet to date, bringing it closer to a true edge -to -edge screen experience.
According to a publication on the Chinese social media platform, Weibo, the next iPad Pro models will have similar bezels in width to the Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra. The information was shared by Instant Digital, a filter established with more than 1.4 million followers.
The publication also suggests that Apple has discovered how to reduce the width of the edges around the iPad screen without introducing a notch, such as the one in the Ultra Galaxy Tab S10. That tablet already has a body -by -body ratio of more than 90%. Without a notch, the ipad pro redesign line would be firmly in the territory of the entire screen.
As this last rumor of iPad exhibition is, it also raises many questions, and leaves many of them without an answer.
A future without borders?
We have heard rumors about the Lepad Pro Ultra-Slim Bevel before, some of which come from the same source. While Instant Digital has accurately leaked some Apple specifications in advance, the account has also had its share of failures. That gives reasons to take suggestions with a hint of skepticism.
Even so, developing a tablet with ultra-Sim bevels certainly seems something inside Apple’s timonera. And if there is a device with which he loves to show his design chops, it is the iPad Pro. From mini panels led to Apple Pencil manipulation support, the PRO line has long been a recreation courtyard for premium characteristics.
The movement would require a reconfiguration of internal hardware, particularly in relation to the screen. Recent reports suggest that part of the response could come from Chip-on-Film technology, which according to reports, LG will use to make integrated OLED panels for future iPad Pro models.
With thin and notch bezels, Apple will still need somewhere to hide the front camera and the Truedepth sensor system required for the identification of the face. When he eliminated the notch of the iPhone 14 Pro, Apple introduced the dynamic island. An option could be to bring this function to the iPad Pro line.
An alternative solution would be the sample sensors. We have seen them on other devices. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold range, including the last Z Fold 6, has been equipped for a long time with low exhibition cameras. We have also written about a recent Apple patent for a low exhibition facial identification system. This suggests that Apple is working on a way of eradicating the notches of its iPhone range, and technology could certainly spread to its tablets.
Perhaps the most pressing question is when all this will really arise. The Post Weibo makes it clear that the arrival point of the redesign is “not necessarily the next generation.”
The current iPad Pro (2024) was launched in May 2024. The next -generation iPad Pro is expected to reach 2025 with an M5 processor. As much as we would like to see a total screen iPad this year, it seems more realistic to cover our bets and wait for thinner bezels in the next generation, probably due to the first half of 2027.
