Apple Macs could leave the shelf with a fully updated installation of macOS on board in the future, avoiding any need for an update of the buyer one, if the tracks on the last beta developer are an indication.
9 to 5 Mac reports that the Tahoe 26 Beta 3 macOS contains the base (initial references and code) for said system, which is already in its place for the iPhone.
It is called and allows the iPhones in cash to be updated to the latest version of iOS by retailers, without eliminating the hardware of their sealed package, if the devices need an update beyond the version of the operating system they sent.
This keeps the client the discomfort of applying an update from the door, which is incredibly convenient.
The hardware leve itself is a shelf with six bays that can have six iPhones placed inside. Use wireless technologies to light the phones, update them and then turn them off. (Magsafe and NFC will turn on the devices, according to all accounts, and Wi-Fi to complete the real update).
Analysis: Smart boxing
If the MACs will get the benefit of having completely updated software when the buyer takes home, raise the question: How will Apple achieve it with laptops and PC? It is possible that the system has to work very differently for a larger hardware piece, and the MACs do not have NFC, so it is not clear how the sealed PC could be activated to turn on its box (and turn off again).
9TO5MAC suggests that perhaps Apple could add NFC to its macOS devices, or that perhaps a different mixture of wireless technology could be used with Mac. Whatever the case, it is not clear how Apple would achieve it as it does with iPhones, but it may require a substantially different turn in the concept.
In addition, just because a potential characteristic is seen at the bottom of the Beta software does not mean that it will ever concretize. That said, the presence of the code indicates that this is at least something that Apple is considering seriously: look at this space, I suppose.
