- MLS games will be free on Apple TV starting in 2026
- The previous MLS Season Pass disappears
- MLS ticket packages will include an Apple TV sub
Fresh off rebranding, Apple TV is now changing its subscription offerings: Major League Soccer games will now be included in the main Apple TV subscription, rather than being placed behind a separate paywall.
Until now, access to MLS required an additional MLS season pass, yours for $14.99 / £14.99 / AU$22.99 a month or $99 / £99 / AU$149 for the entire season (and a little less if you were already paying for Apple TV). Starting next year, that will disappear.
“We are thrilled to bring MLS to more fans around the world next season on Apple TV,” says Eddy Cue, senior vice president of Apple Services. “Every match, all in one place, along with amazing Apple Originals, is a win for fans everywhere.”
The agreement includes all MLS-related content, covering all regular season matches, the Leagues Cup tournament, the MLS All-Star Game, the Campeones Cup, the Audi MLS Cup Playoffs and several other matches.
More sport than ever
If you sign up for a full season ticket package with any MLS club, to go see the games in person, you’ll also get an Apple TV subscription as part of the package, so you can watch the games at home as well.
You may remember that Apple and MLS reached a deal in 2022 for a whopping $2.5 billion, with broadcasts starting in 2023. That deal was for 10 years, so there’s plenty of viewing time left, until 2032.
Sports fans will have more to watch on Apple TV than ever in 2026: Last month Apple signed a deal to broadcast Formula 1 races in the United States, which as with MLS will not cost anything extra for Apple TV subscribers.
All of this increases the value of an Apple TV subscription, currently yours for $12.99 / £9.99 / AU$15.99 a month. For now, there’s no cheaper ad-supported tier available like there is with other streaming services, although that may change eventually.
