- Apple’s first folding device could have an impressive battery life
- That is according to a new rumor that details Apple’s last efforts
- Would compete with Samsung’s best folding in battery life
Apple’s first folding device seems to be on its way: we obtained another rumor that apparently confirms that today, and now a new detail has emerged that could help Apple to compete with the tastes of Samsung Galaxy Z fold 7.
According to a Chinese filter known as Phone Chip Expert. That could give it an advantage against the best folding phones in what is a highly competitive market.
To achieve this, the phone chips expert states that Apple has reduced the integrated display controller of 28 Nm to 16 Nm. That is a massive reduction and could significantly affect battery life.
Apple likes to promise that its devices come with “battery duration all day”, and when it comes to a large screen as in a folding product, battery life is key. That makes Phone Chip Expert’s statement seem credible at first glance.
Battery duration all day
A movement like this makes a lot of sense. After all, an iPhone or folding macbook will have a much larger screen than its non -writing brothers, and everything that screen real estate can have a lot of energy. That is something we have seen in other folding devices such as Asus Zenbook 17 times, which has not been able to impress us with its useful life of the mediocre battery.
It is believed that Apple is building a folding iPhone and a MacBook-Pad hybrid with a folding screen. In the case of the first, it is likely to compete directly with the next Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, which is rumored that obtains the same battery capacity as the galaxy z fold 6.
That said, Samsung is apparently working to make its folding screen more efficient, so it will be fascinating to see what device comes out here.
At the moment, most of this is limited to the land of rumors, but it is worth noting that the expert in telephone chips has a reasonably solid history with respect to Apple’s rumors.
They predicted correctly that Apple would build their own servers to execute Apple Intelligence and that the iPhone 15 would continue using the A15 bionic chip instead of the new chip A16, among other statements.
However, that does not mean that this last rumor is nailed to happen. Several sources have affirmed that Apple’s first folding device could arrive in 2026 or 2027, so we will have to wait until then to judge the efficiency and battery life of the first folding product of Apple.
