- According to reports, the folding iPhone will use a different screen type for Samsung folding.
- It will supposedly have an integrated tactile sensor, which makes it thinner and light
- It is also said that it offers a greater brightness and better color reproduction.
According to the reports, the long -standing folding iPhone will have a screen made by Samsung, but although its screen could make Samsung folding phones exceed according to a new report.
Publication of Leater Yeux1122 in the South Naver Korea blog (through Macrumors), states that the folding iPhone will have a new type of screen that we have not seen in the Samsung Galaxy Z fold or Samsung Galaxy Z Flip Samsung models.
Supposedly, this screen will have an integrated tactile sensor directly on the screen, while with the current Samsung folding, the touch sensor is a separate layer placed at the top of the folding screen.
Having it integrated into the screen is common in non -holdable phones, but it is more difficult to achieve with a folding. However, it comes with advantages, which apparently include making this screen in about 19% thinner than Samsung’s galaxy z fold screens, in addition to being lighter.
That in turn could help Apple maintain the thin folding iPhone, with previous reports that suggest that it could have only 4.5 mm thick when it unfolds and between 9 mm and 9.5 mm thick when bending.
Samsung could also benefit
That will not necessarily do it thinner than the next Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, which is also rumored that is losing weight a lot compared to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6. But, curiously, according to this report, Samsung is only doing its own most thin phone due to the work you are doing to meet the Apple visualization requirements.
Then, in other words, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 can have a similar screen, but Samsung could not have followed this if Apple had not required it.
However, the folding iPhone screen will probably not be identical to what is the Galaxy Z Fold 7, since Apple apparently will have brand marks for the folding iPhone screen, so it can be even thinner than the Z Fold 7 screen.
And this new screen is not only said that it is thinner and lighter than Samsung’s existing folding screens, apparently the maximum brightness, normal brightness and color reproduction have also improved. Therefore, this screen could be a real update on the folding screens that we have seen to date.
Unfortunately, we will probably not see it for a while, with the folding iPhone that will not be launched before the end of 2026. But at least we can see some of these improvements in the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, which will probably land this July.
