Manning was 11, 25 years old with 114 air yards, a touchdown pass and an interception. He had 51 yards by land and two touchdowns by land.

He told journalists after the game he knew he had to play better.

“I have to play better,” he said, through ESPN. “Many field marshals, many players, want to be great. I know I’m better than this.”

While the offensive had 23 attempts in the game, the Lonchorns were only 5 of 16 in the third Down and 2 of 5 in fourth inactivity.

Even so, Texas’s open receiver Ryan Wingo expressed support in the highly promoted field marshal.

“Arch is a great quarterback. The same great field marshal,” Wingo said, through On3 Sports. “Our chemistry is not low. I think it is improving, especially later in the game, like everyone else in the country.”

Manning has not lived up to the wild expectations that were established for him before the season began. However, Texas has gotten into the column of victories in consecutive weeks and the team only lost to Ohio State for a touchdown.
