Islamabad:
The interim justice of the Superior Court of Islamabad (IHC) Sardar Muhammad Sarfraz Dogar opposed the multitude of lawyers gathered in the gathered during the hearing of cases of £ 190 million, questioning if they were trying to press the Court and reminded them that such behavior violated the decorum of the court.
An IHC division bank comprising the president of Interim Justice and Judge Muhammad Asif heard the appeals of the PTI Patron-in-Chief Imran Khan and his spouse Bushra Bibi for the suspension of the sentence in the case.
During the hearing, PTI’s lawyer, Salman Safdar’s lawyer, appeared in court on behalf of the petitioners, accompanied by a large number of lawyers in the gallery.
The president of the Interim Supreme Court opposed the multitude of lawyers in the gallery. “If only a lawyer will argue, why do so many meet? Are you trying to press? [the court]? This is not the decorum of the court. The rest must take a seat. If this situation persists, I will not hear this case. “
Nab Javed Arshad’s special prosecutor requested four weeks to prepare, noting that he was appointed only one day and the case involved long volumes of records.
Barrimer Safdar argued that under the leadership of Sardar Muzaffar Abbasi, NAB had already notified his prosecution team, and on June 5, prosecutor Rafay Maqsood had declared that they were not ready to discuss.
Barríster Safdar also pointed out that one of the convicted is a woman and, according to the practice, the prayers of women are often suspended.
He asked the Court to grant them the opportunity to begin their case, saying that it would only guarantee transparency.
Arshad replied that he deserved a “fair opportunity” to prepare, since he had never been part of the case before. I need time to review the record, he said.
Barríster Safdar said the case was finally solved after a long delay and requested that the audience be scheduled for Monday.
The court accepted the NAB application that sought time to prepare the case and postponed the hearing, stating that the next date would be announced later.
