Ariana Grande is adopting the elements of Glinda that were left after essaying the main character for Wicked.
The 31-year-old actress and singer sat down with Variety reflect on his life during and after his role in the musical fantasy film.
Grande now feels that her high-pitched voice for Glinda’s voice is something that “could stay.”
“Certain things may not melt. Some do, but I am so grateful for the pieces that will stay with us forever. What a beautiful thing it is to stay with them and feel the ghost of each day,” Grande continued. , before tackling another parting gift from his role.
“I’m still looking for my eyebrows,” she joked in the interview, published Jan. 2. “I’ll let you know if I find them, I hope not.”
Grande also vouched for her co-star Cynthia Erivo, who plays Elphaba in the film, relating to each other’s experiences.
“Maybe people underestimate how much time we spend finding and disappearing into these women.”
“So when certain inflections or gestures take a while to fade, sometimes people make fun of it,” he said of his work on the film. “But we had a job to do and we had things to get lost in, because that’s what the piece called for.”
Grande went on to call the opportunity to play Glinda in the Jon M. Chu-directed film a “dream role.”
“I had been chasing [producer] “Marc Platt was there for about 10 years, wondering when this movie was going to happen, when I would get a chance to audition,” he said with a laugh in a clip from Wicked’s digital release.
“As soon as I heard that maybe in a few months they could start dating, I thought, ‘Great! Now’s the time to start,'” Grande added.
