The Arkansas Razorbs fired the football coach Sam Pittman and appointed Bobby Petrino the interim coach on Sunday after the unequal defeat of the team against Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
The Razorbs had no response for the offensive of the Irish struggle in defeat 56-13. Notre Dame put 42 points in Arkansas in the first half. The CJ Carr Seafood had four TouchDown and Jeremiyah Love passes ran for two scores.

The loss fell to Arkansas to 2-3 in the year, but apparently it was the drop that filled the height for the university.
“I want to thank coach Pitman for his service and dedication to the University of Arkansas throughout his time as a chief coach,” said Athletics director, Hunter Yurachek, in a statement. “From day 1, you can say how much this opportunity meant for him. At this time, however, I think a change is necessary to put our students athletes and programs in the best position to succeed.
“The objective of our football program is to be highly competitive within the Southeast Conference and compete for a national championship. As we advance in the process of finding our next chief coach, I am sure we can provide the necessary resources to our staff and team to achieve our goals. We will begin a national search for our next chief coach immediate complete”.

Pittman was 32-24 since he took Arkansas’ work in 2020. The team made three bowl games and won each of them. The razorbs were 7-6 last season and won the Liberty Bowl.
Petrino trained in Arkansas from 2008 to 2011. He was fired before the 2012 season officially began after a motorcycle accident caused a scandal in the program.

He was the last chief coach in Louisville in 2018. He is 119-56 in 14 years as a chief coach in university football.
