The armed thieves in Karachi snatched RS 2.5 million from a businessman of the poultry farm and shot his security guard during the robbery.
The Security Guard was seriously injured, with a gunshot wound, and was transferred in a critical condition of the Jinnah hospital.
The businessman, who runs a poultry farm, was on his way to deposit the money in a bank with his security guard when the incident occurred.
While driving near Korangi No.2, a high Suzuki car blocked their path, and the thieves armed in the car demanded the money. When the businessman resisted, the thieves opened fire and fled the scene. The bullet hit the head guard in the head, leaving him seriously injured.
The incident took place just when Eidul-Fitr approaches, with an increase in street crimes and robberies in the city. The police were alerted to the incident, and the SSP Korangi along with other officers quickly arrived at the scene.
The investigators of the crime scene were called to collect evidence, and the police gathered CCTV images of the area. The wounded security guard was identified as Amir Ahmed, 35.
According to the SSP Korangi Tariq Nawaz, the victim, Farhan, headed to the bank with his friend Basheer and security guard when they were ambushed by three or four armed thieves.
The thieves, who were in a high white car, stole the RS 2.5 million and fled after the shooting. The victim declared that the thieves were armed and escaped rapidly after crime.
The police have initiated an investigation using technical and human intelligence and has carried out geographicals of the area. Police expect that in the next 24 hours, they can locate the suspects involved in the robbery.
Farhan, the poultry businessman, confirmed that he was on his way to deposit the money at the bank when the armed thieves blocked his car and took the money. He mentioned that the thieves were three to four in number and traveled in a high white car.
Last week, armed thieves looted more than RS1.15 million of the People’s Bus Service personnel in the Hadadeo de Karachi in Gulshan, holding them at gunpoint at the end of night.
According to driver Sher Jan, the theft took place at the last stop of the bus service, where he and other employees were resting. Six assailants reached a vehicle, and two stayed inside while four entered the facilities. One of them wore a mask.
