An army soccer player is being acclaimed as a hero after he and his father jumped into action in the state New York During the weekend, taking a man out of a disabled vehicle moments before he was called.

Larry Pickett Jr., a second -year cadet at the United States Military Academy in West Point and security for the Black knights of the army, He spent the weekend with his family after Friday night’s game against Tarleton State.

On the way back to the campus on Saturday night, Larry Jr. recalled having left the car with his father, Larry Pickett Mr., to see the electric lines fallen when they saw a car that had crashed into a post of public services.

“My father and I left the car, we ran to that car and saw that there was a gentleman who needed help,” he said during an appearance in “Fox and friends”.

The video shared by his father on social networks showed the heartbreaking moment that the two loaded to the vehicle, took the man and took him to security. The electricity of the electric lines could be heard in the background.

The video quickly cut the white sedan wrapped in flames.

“Thank you Jesus that this man will live to see another day! I am very grateful for my son LJ for saving his life! Not only is he having an impact on the classroom and the soccer field at the United States military academy in West Point, but also marking a difference in his community,” Larry Mr. wrote in a Facebook post.

“Just after midnight, I watched in amazement how my son, Larry Pickett Jr., ran to a burning vehicle, ignoring the fallen electric lines that creak around him. With immense courage, he took a man to a safe place, saving him from a burning destination.”

In a statement published in X, West Point praised Larry Jr. for his brave actions.

“We are proud of the heroic actions taken on Saturday night by the cadet Larry Pickett JR, a second year cadet and a player of @armywp_football, and his father who is attracted to a driver to a safe place in a video online taken by the family. His actions are the incarnation of the @usarmy values.”

Larry Jr. enters his second season with the black knights after a successful soccer race in Enloe High School in North Carolina, where he obtained the two times honors from the whole state and three times honors of all conferences.

He did not see any action as a first -year student, but registered a Tackle in his university debut against Tarleton state on Friday.
