Arshad Nadeem of Pakistan finished a 52 -year -old gold medal drought for Pakistan in the Asian Athletics Championship, proving his victory to the prayers of his parents and the nation.
Nadeem assured the gold in the javelin launch event in the championships held in South Korea, ending ahead of Sachin from India, which took money.
Yuta Sakiyama in Japan secured bronze with a launch of 83.75 meters, while the Rumesh Tharanga Pathire of Sri Lanka finished fourth with 83.27 meters.
The other Pakistan participant, Muhammad Yasir, was eighth with a better launch of 75.39 meters.
“Winning this medal is a great honor,” Nadeem said in a shared message on social networks.

He added that success was a blessing of Allah and the result of the nation’s prayers. Nadeem also recognized his coach’s efforts, Salman Butt, describing the medal as a product of his hard work. This victory marked his first international victory since he competed at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
It is expected to land at Lahore on Sunday night at 10.20 pm.
The victory has brought Pakistan’s global recognition and respect on the international stage. Nadeem’s victory was praised by President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
Pakistan won the gold for the last time in the Asian Athletics Championship in 1973, when Allah Daad assured the javelin and Muhammad Younger’s title won the gold in the 800 -meter race.

In his message, Zardari said that the entire nation was proud of Arshad Nadeem’s excellent performance.

Last year, in August, Nadeem made history by winning the gold medal in the final of the male javelin at the Paris Olympic Games, establishing a new Olympic record with a launch of 92.97 meters.
Previously, Nadeem was appointed the best Asian athlete by Asian athletics, which recognized its notable achievements in the continental stage.
Nadeem will go to England after this championship to begin preparations for the World Athletics Championship in September.
