Arshad Nadeem of Pakistan assured gold in the final of the male javelin in the 2025 Asian athletics championship on Saturday, registering a launch of 86.40 meters in its final attempt.
The event, held in Gumi, South Korea, saw Nadeem ended up ahead of Sachin from India, who assured second place.

Yuta Sakiyama of Japan won the bronze with a launch of 83.75 meters, while the Rumesh Tharanga Pathire of Sri Lanka, finished fourth with 83.27 meters.
The second participant of Pakistan, Muhammad Yasir, ended eighth, registering a better launch of 75.39 meters.
Nadeem kept leadership during the final round with a series of strong releases. His third attempt measured 85.57 meters, which put it ahead of the competition.
This followed with 83.99 meters in his fourth launch, remaining firmly first.
In his fifth and last attempt, Nadeem delivered its longest launch of the day, reaching 86.40 meters, ensuring the gold medal for Pakistan.

This victory followed his strong performance in the classification round one day before, where he secured a place in the final with a launch of 86.34 meters in his first attempt. That effort marked him as a leader in the final.
Nadeem’s gold medal adds to its growing list of international achievements and reinforces its position as one of the main javelin pitchers in Asia.
Last year, in August, Nadeem made history by winning the gold medal in the final of the male javelin at the Paris Olympic Games, establishing a new Olympic record with a launch of 92.97 meters.
Previously, Nadeem was appointed the best Asian athlete by Asian athletics, which recognized its notable achievements in the continental stage.
Nadeem will go to England after this championship to begin preparations for the World Athletics Championship in September.
