- Lenovo currently faces the problems that meet Legion’s early orders, and has canceled some
- This comes at the same time as GPD Win 5 first impressions are landing
- The Win 5 GPD has a price similar to Legion Go 2, but offers significantly better performance
With the Lenovo Legion Go 2 exhibited in IFA 2025 in Berlin, Germany, fans have been eager to grab the new hand computer, but unfortunately the early orders have not been planned. Meanwhile, there is a new device in the city that exceeds the sequel to Legion Go and could easily overcome the classifications of the best handpames.
As reported by our friends in Tom’s Hardware, Lenovo has canceled some early orders for Legion Go 2 due to high demand and because he cannot deliver units to consumers in a “timely way.”
Unfortunately for Lenovo, this is happening while we are doing our first look at the new and more powerful GPD Win 5 Handheld.
It is quite evident that both are very different, but they are similar in terms of initial prices, which means that both are expensive. The GPD Win 5 Ryzen AI Max 385 model starts at $ 1,599 / around £ 1,470 / AU $ 2,420, while the Lenovo Legion Go 2 starts at $ 1,099 / £ 899 / AU $ 1,809.
While the AMD Ryzen AI Max 385 in the GPD Win 5 probably works much closer to the Ryzen Ai Max 395+ Top Dog, and much better than the Ryzen Z2 in the Base Base Legion GO 2 model, the Lenovo device remains cheaper.
Where the GPD win 5 details, Legion Go 2 is with the Ryzen AI Max 395+ 2TB model, which comes at $ 1,850 / around £ 1,720 / au $ 2,800, compared to the Lenovo Legion Go 2 Z2 Extreme 2TB model that is $ 1,479 / around £ 1.279 / au $ 2,240 1,479 / around £ 1,279 / au $ 2,240, and its performance is about $ 1,479 / around £ 1,279 / au $ 2,240, and its performance is so, and its performance is $ 1,479 / around £ 1,279 / au $ 2,240, and its performance is so, and its performance is $ 1,479 £ 1,279 / au $ 2,240, and its performance is close. Win 5.

Attend
In a nutshell, as shown in the YouTube video above for the Phawx, the GPD Win 5 is the most powerful hand games currently in the market. It is literally providing a game level performance level near the tastes of a NVIDIA RTX 4060 or RTX 4070 (LAPTOP GPU).
It would not be exaggerated to say that if you are willing to spend large in the Lenovo Legion Go 2, it might not be more saving a little more for a device that (depending on what we are seeing with the first impressions) blows everyone else into the water outside the water in terms of performance.
That does not mean that the Win 5 GPD is not a niche device, since it is certainly given how expensive it is launched. But the difference is that these high sales prices are justified taking into account the power of which this laptop is capable of executing demanding titles such as Return at more than 80 fps (resolution of 1080p without generation of paintings).
ANALYSIS: The Win 5 GPD is the only PC for portable games that guarantees its premium price
Without sweetening it, the Lenovo Legion Go 2 has no business that costs as much as it does, and it certainly does not approach the price of the GPD Win 5, even with its OLED screen.
As I said before, the Ryzen Z2 Extreme (which drives the most robust Legion Go 2) barely provides a great update of its predecessor, so the only important points of sale of the sequel are its OLED screen and battery life, but that is not enough.
The Win 5 GPD is the best experience of portable games outside laptops, with a removable battery of 80 Whr and a light design. I would prefer to have an 8 -inch screen instead of the 7 -inch GPD screen, but when you get a high level performance in all areas, that becomes a minor problem.
Do not be misunderstood here: I would not buy a portable device that costs as much as a laptop or desktop PC anyway. But for those who want the best of the best for hand games, the Win 5 GPD seems to be the answer, and the only device I have seen so far that justifies their high prices.
