- Netflix has defended the first UI update of the Transmission Service in 12 years
- Fans have relieved their fury about unnecessary changes in the home page design
- Netflix states that people prefer the updated version in silence
Netflix has defended the first redesign of the User Interface (UI) of the platform in 12 years, and has even stated that most people prefer it to the design of the old destination page.
According to the Hollywood Reporter (THR), Netflix has suggested that fans really prefer the new transmission aspect compared to the previous one. As the Thr article reveals, Netflix says that its internal data, plus the one -year beta test that made the new design that comes out live, claims the Behemoth’s decision of the entertainment of reviewing the user interface of its service.
Netflix’s statement occurs more than a month after he revealed the largest update of his home page in more than a decade. At that time, the transmission titan confirmed that the global deployment of the update would begin seriously, but declared that some users would see the redesign before others.
Less than 24 hours after the great presentation of the UI Refresh, which took place on May 7, Netflix fans began informing that their home page had been updated, and some of them were not happy. In fact, frustrated fans went into social networks to say that Netflix’s “new design” is more difficult to find the type of content they like to convey.

In the weeks since the design of the best transmission service was reviewed, more customers have changed to the Redesigned Home page. And, surprise surprise, more people have published online to express their fury in what they consider unnecessary changes. From the Netflix Sub-Redit to other social media platforms such as X/Twitter, consumers have appeared in the Netflix design renewal.
Now, however, Netflix has suggested that these dissidents are just a very vocal minority. In fact, while a company spokesman admitted that the transmission giant knew that it would face some form of violation of the changes, the updated user interface is a better experience. “With larger boxes, we are showing more information in advance to help you make a better decision,” they added. “Instead of seeing 20 or 30 titles at the same time, now you are seeing information at a glance.”
Opinion: Netflix users are simply shouting in a vacuum, again

This is not the first time that Netflix fans have criticized the decisions taken by the Video-on-Demand (VOD) company. Whether it is Netflix prices now annual, angry users who threaten to close their accounts about the elimination of certain subscription levels, regular cancellation of favorite fans programs such as The recruitOr the incredibly divisive decision of Netflix to take energetic measures against the exchange of accounts between homes, consumers have increasingly exasperated with the most popular streamer.
But there lies the problem. Despite Ire Netflix’s drawings when it makes unpopular decisions, it remains the largest and largest vod platform on the market. At the end of 2024, Netflix reported that it had 301.6 million subscribers. Its closest rivals, which are believed to be main videos and Disney+, can only boast about 200 million users and 150.2 million customers, respectively. Despite the frustration of fans about updates such as their design update, then, Netflix continues to dominate the transmission panorama.
Netflix no longer publicly reveals how many users he has, so we will not know if consumers vote with their money and cancel their Netflix subscription following any change made in the service.
With so many new Netflix films, in addition to new seasons of some of the best Netflix programs, which will debut on the platform before the end of 2025, I cannot see millions of active users who hit Netflix where it hurts, that is, their profit margins. The only way to make your executives feel and take note is to close our accounts in protest for updates such as this review of the user interface. Until people vote with their wallets, Netflix will continue to do whatever they want, regardless of whether or not fans like.
