Ask to plan to increase farmers’ profits

Islamabad:

The Pakistan Development Economics Institute (asks) has published a policy plan that changes the game entitled “Towards a free market: a plan for the deregulation of the wheat sector”, written by Dr. Muhammad Faisal Ali and Dr. Sobia Rose.

Published as a policy point of view, the document requires complete and structured deregulation of the Pakistan wheat sector, arguing that long -standing MSP policy has not stabilized markets, protect farmers or guarantee consumer’s well -being.

On the other hand, it has led to involuntary consequences, which comply with the large land owners, the flour mills and the intermediaries, while accumulating a circular debt of RS680 billion in Punjab for 2023, said a statement issued in Islamabad on Sunday
