Ubisoft is delayed Assassin’s Creed Shadows for the second time, with the game launching in February-March of this year.
Originally scheduled to release in November 2024, the game was delayed to February 14, 2025 to allow more time for additional polish, but has now received a second delay of nearly five weeks.
As part of a broader strategic update statement, Ubisoft states that: “As part of the renewed focus on game quality and engaging day one experiences, it has been decided to provide an additional month of development for Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
“This additional time will allow the team to better incorporate player feedback collected over the past three months and will help create the best conditions for the launch by continuing to interact closely with the increasingly positive people. assassin’s creed community.”
Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot added: “We all support the efforts of our teams to create the most ambitious software assassin’s creed work of the franchise and made the decision to provide an additional month of development to Darkness to better incorporate player feedback gathered over the past three months, allowing us to fully realize the game’s potential and end the year on a strong note.”
Any extra time in a game’s development is rarely a bad thing, and fans of the series hope that these valuable extra weeks will ensure Darkness has an excellent run at being added to the upper echelons of the collective list of the best Assassin’s Creed games on the internet.
