ASUS has launched the Expertbook P3 series, available in sizes of 14 and 16 inches, aimed at professionals looking for a stable commercial portable computer.
The company offers five years of bios and drivers updates along with a one -year subscription to McAFEE+ Premium, a promise of unusually long software support in this segment.
This guarantee may sound attractive, especially for IT managers, but questions are left about how these updates will be consistently delivered throughout the useful life of the devices.
Hardware designed for productivity and AI
Both models work with AMD Ryzen AI processors, including the pro variants, with up to 16 nuclei and support for AI work loads in 50 tops.
Asus says this means tasks such as real -time subtitles, automated notes and noise noise cancellation are executed locally instead of depending on the cloud.
The new devices can be configured with up to 32 GB of DDR5 memory and up to 2 TB of primary storage, with a secondary slot that allows greater expansion.
The smallest 14 -inch version offers a Wuxga or WQXGA panel with a shine of up to 400 nits and an 144Hz update speed, while the 16 -inch version reflects those options in a slightly higher body -by -screen ratio.
Both models include non -slip coatings, which could be useful for outdoor meetings or bright offices.
The chassis is totally metallic, the keyboards are resistant to spills and optional background light is available.
For connectivity, it presents USB-C ports, USB-A dual ports, HDMI 2.1, LAN and a headphones connector, along with Wi-Fi 6 or Wi-Fi 7 settings combined with Bluetooth 5.4.
The 70WH battery is standard, and Asus states that it must handle a full day of work, which would attract buyers looking for a laptop with a long battery life.
Expertbook P3 is certified by Mil-STD-810H, which suggests some resistance against drops and shocks.
Security features include TPM 2.0, a digital fingerprint sensor, webcam shutter and a Kensington block slot.
These devices are not the lighter laptops on the market, since the 14 -inch model weighs 1,355 kg, while the 16 -inch model weighs 1.79 kg.
Expertbook P3 specifications look good on paper, but their success will be determined by their ability to provide constant reliability in the use of the daily office.
