- The new ASUS GX10 has brings the developers directly supercomputing power
- Promises 1000 Tops of AI processing and can handle models of up to 200 billion parameters
- It is cheaper than Nvidia DGX Spark, with less storage but similar performance
The development of AI is becoming increasingly demanding, and Asus wants to bring high -performance computer science directly to the desks of developers, researchers and data scientists with the ASCENT GX10, a compact IA supercomputer promoted by Grace Blackwell GB10 superchip of Nvidia.
The rival of Asus to DGX Spark of Nvidia (previously project digits) is designed to handle local workloads of AI, which facilitates the prototype, the fine adjustment and executes of impressively large models without depending completely on the resources of the cloud or the data centers.
The ASCENT GX10 comes with 128 GB of unified memory, and the Blackwell GPU with fifth generation tensor nuclei and FP4 precision support means that it can deliver up to 1000 tops of AI processing power. It also includes a CPU of Gracia de 20 nuclei, which accelerates data processing and orchestration for the inference of AI and the adjustment of the model. Asus says that it will allow developers to work with AI models of up to 200 billion parameters without finding important bottlenecks.
Powerful but compact
“The AI is transforming all industries, and the Asus Ascent GX10 is designed to bring this transformative power to the fingertips of each developer,” said Kuowei Chao, general manager of Asus IoT and Nu Business Group.
“By integrating Nvidia Grace Blackwell Superchip, we are providing a powerful but compact tool that allows developers, data scientists and researchers to innovate and overcome the limits of AI directly from their desks.”
ASUS has built the GX10 with NVLink-C2C, which provides more than five times the Bandwidth of PCIE 5.0, allowing the CPU and GPU to share the memory efficiently, improving performance in AI workloads.
The system also comes with an integrated Connectx network interface, so two GX10 units can be joined to manage even larger models, as it calls 3.1 with 405 billion parameters.
Asus says that the ASCENT GX10 will be available for pre-pedd in the second quarter of 2025. The details of the prices have not yet been confirmed by ASUS, but Nvidia says it will cost $ 2999 and will come with 1 TB of storage.
In comparison, Nvidia Spark DGX itself is a thousand more dollars ($ 3999) and comes with 4 TB of storage.
