Baluchistan:
A police officer was martyred and three other injured after the unidentified gunmen opened fire against their vehicle near Choto along the national road in the Mastung district on Friday, provincial officials said.
According to a Baluchistan government spokesman, Shahid Rind, the target vehicle belonged to an interim police deputy superintendent (DSP). DSP remains unharmed in the attack.
The injured were transferred to a nearby hospital to obtain immediate medical assistance.
“The security forces have been sent to the site and a search operation is being carried out to track the attackers,” said the spokesman.
Rind confirmed that the attack seemed to be an objective assault on the officer’s vehicle.
The authorities have not yet provided details about the motive or identity of the attackers.
