At least six people have died and five other wounds in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa as strong rains, storms and lightning parts of the province since Friday, according to the Provincial Authority of Disaster Management (PDMA) on Sunday.

The report says that seven houses were damaged throughout the province. Of these, two were completely destroyed, while five partial damage suffered. The incidents were informed of the districts of Mansehra, Buner, Lower and Super Dir, Kohistan and Malakand.

PDMA has ordered the administrations of the local district to guarantee an immediate relief to affected families and provide quality medical attention to the injured.

“The PDMA emergency operation center is fully functional, and people can inform any adversary incident to the 1700 aid line,” reads the statement.

The authority said that the evaluations are ongoing and that the updates will be followed as the district teams continue to monitor the situation.

Last month, at least 11 people had lost their lives and almost another 50 injuries suffered in incidents related to rain in Punjab and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP).

According to the Provincial Disaster Authority of KP (PDMA), eight people died and another 21 injuries in several districts of the province after strong downpours and strong winds.
