ATC extends Bushra’s bond in case of protest

Islamabad/Rawalpindi:

An anti -terrorism court (ATC) in Rawalpindi extended the interim bond of Bushra Bibi, the wife of the founder of PTI, in 31 cases linked to the protests of November 26, until April 29.

Judge ATC Amjad Ali Shah also extended the interim bonds of Azam Swati, Naeem Panjutha, Mishal Yousafzai and Sanam Javed until April 15, while the secretary general of PTI Salman Akram Raja received an extension of bail until April 21 in cases related to the protests of October 5.

The court also ordered Bushra Bibi to join the investigation in signed in Atock, instructing that she was interrogated in the presence of her husband, the founding president of PTI, Imran Khan, and legal advisor.

During the procedures, the investigation team informed the court that Bushra Bibi had already joined investigations in cases registered in the Rawalpindi district, but the investigation remained incomplete. The court ordered the investigators to complete the consultation and submit the report before the next hearing.

All investigation officials in question and special prosecutor Syed Zaheer Shah were present during the hearing.

The Court has postponed more procedures on provisional bail requests in cases of November 31 until April 29.

In a parallel development in Islamabad, the ATC Tahir Abbas Sipra judge granted an interim bail to the PTI Omar Ayub leader in eight signed separated to the protests of November 26. The court prevented the police from stopping him until April 29 and ordered him to cooperate with the investigations.

Ayub appeared in the Court together with his legal team and submitted bail requests before arresting in eight cases registered in several police stations, including Kohsar police stations, Margalla, Ternol and AABPARA.
