ATC grants exemption from Aleem Khan in the case of protest, the postponed audience

Imran Khan’s sister, Aleema, has been exempt from appearing in the Court to face the positions of protesting her brother’s release last year. The anti -terrorism court in Rawalpindi will then listen to the case a week later, on September 2.

The Sadiqabad police had registered a case against it after the violent protests of November 26 in Islamabad. On Monday, the judge of the Rawalpindi anti -terrorism court, Amjad Ali Shah, granted his lawyer lawyer Muhammad Faisal Malik of exemption.

Aleem Khan is released on bail. However, his children were arrested in Lahore last week. On August 22, the Police arrested Shershah Khan, a day after his brother Shahrez Khan was arrested in relation to the disturbances of May 9, 2023. Family said that the men of civilians intercepted a car driven by Aleem’s husband and took Sherhah by force.

Aleem Khan condemned the arrests, saying that they were destined to silence his family and PTI. Party officials also denounced the arrests, calling them illegal and politically motivated.

In Lahore, another ATC sent Shahrez Khan in police custody for eight days. He was arrested at the end of August 21 from the Aleem’s residence, and the PTI alleged that the home personnel were assaulted and the family members harassed.

Later, the police linked him to the attack of the Jinnah house through complementary statements presented in September 2023.

The defense lawyer Salman Akram Raja opposed the police request to keep Shahrez in custody for more questions, saying that stopping him 27 months after the incident was “ridiculous.”

He argued that Shahrez was not involved in political agitation and had been in Chitral during the riots. He added that Aleema Khan had already been discharged in the same case.

Police acknowledged that Shahrez was not sought in other cases of May 9, although prosecutors argued that their name appeared in multiple records.

The defense lawyers argued that he was being target due to the ties of his family with Imran Khan and the PTI accused the government of chasing family members and supporters of Imran.
