Rawalpindi:

Rawalpindi’s anti -terrorism judge (ATC), Syed Amjad Ali Shah, issued arrest orders for 34 accused of escaping, including the leaders of PTI Shehryar Aphridi, Kanwal Shauzab, Musarrat Jamshed Chema and Umar Tanveer Butt in connection with the GHQ attack case.

The Court ordered the police to arrest the accused and file them before the court before May 29.

On Friday, the lawyer of the founder of PTI, Imran Khan, the defender of Malik Faisal, completed arguments about a constitutional statement that seeks a joint trial, while the Prosecutor’s Office will argue on May 29.

Faisal argued that all cases on May 9 are of a similar nature, involve identical charges and belong to the same day, therefore, they must be heard and judged together.

The court during its procedures in the Adiala prison today (Saturday) will distribute copies of load sheets in eleven cases of May 9, including the GHQ Gate No 4 attack, attack against the building of a sensitive agency in Saddar, Attack of the Army Museum and the metropolitan bus station.

The Court ordered all investigating officers to appear with full documentation.

Separately, the Court confirmed the provisional bonds of journalist Sami Ibrahim in cases of protest of October 4 and 5, subject to bonds of RS50,000 each.

However, the interim bonds for the members of PTI Sardar Ali Khan and Javed Kausar in the case of D-Cowk protest of November 26 were rejected. Both avoided the arrest when remaining absent.

In view of the prison procedures, strict security has been deployed in Adiala Jail Today.
