Rawalpindi:
The prison trial in the case of Attack of the General Headquarters (GHQ) has been postponed once again, marking the seventh delay for a period of two and a half months during which the case had moved at a fast pace with audiences twice a week.
Judge Amjad Ali Shah, of the Anti -Terror Court, postponed the procedures without any action, programming the next hearing for May 3.
On that date, the 14 cases related to May 9 disturbances registered in several police stations of the Rawalpindi Division will be heard.
However, the lawyers on both sides have also ruled out the possibility of a trial in jail on the next date.
The Court also ordered the complete presentation of load sheets in another ten cases, while the copies of the charges in three other cases related to the vandalism incidents in Waris Khan, Cantt and the Hazro police stations are still distributed among the accused.
On Monday, the magistrate Mujtaba Hassan and the sub -inspector Riaz, summoned as witnesses in the case of GHQ attack, once again they did not appear despite being called.
The Court registered the assistance of high profile defendants, including former Interior Minister, Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, opposition leader Omar Ayub Khan, Alia Hamza and Basharat Raja, among others.
