ISLAMABAD:
Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar on Thursday welcomed the convictions of those involved in the May 9 arson attack and stressed the need for a military trial against the mastermind and his accomplices.
Speaking to the media, the minister said that military courts have convicted 60 people involved in the May 9 attacks on Lahore’s Jinnah House, PAF Mianwali air base, Qila Chakdara and other sensitive installations. “This is an important step forward, since those responsible for the attack on sensitive facilities have been brought to justice,” he said, attributing the attacks to a “conspiracy masterminded by the founder of the PTI.”
