- Existing Kiro users are being limited, new users are not currently being welcome
- The details of the prices have been extracted: could a change already be on their way?
- Users cited low performance and desire for additional models
A few days after Amazon Web Services launched its new Kiro AI coding tool, the company has imposed daily use limits and a waiting list for new users due to high demand.
When imposing these temporary measures, AWS hopes to buy time from your equipment to climb the support infrastructure and improve performance, after the complaints of the first users that the performance was already suboptimal.
Existing users are advised that do not install Kiro on multiple machines, and now warnings are activated once they read the limits of use temporarily imposed.
Aws Kiro Restrictions
Although Kiro has just a week and temporary restrictions are even newer, malicious actors have already been busy preparing a false download site to capitalize on users looking for access without restrictions. Without option to omit the limits or buy additional tokens, users are urged to be patients.
Originally offered at free levels, Pro and Pro+, AWS has eliminated the details of the prices, stating that “the updated price details for different levels will be shared soon.”
“The way in which humans and machines coordinate to build software are still messy and fragmented, but we are working to change that,” explained Nikhil Swaminathan and Deepak Singh when they raised Kiro’s wrappings on July 14, 2025.
When it was launched, Kiro was free for users during a period of view, but all that changed when popularity exceeded expectations.
Looking towards the future, the plans paid with measurement are expected to return, although it is not clear if AWS will make changes in costs in the light of high demand.
Later, AWS may also expand the available existing models (Claude Sonnet 3.7 and 4.0), with users requesting support for Gemini 1.5 Pro.
