Amid increasing tensions between Pakistan and India, Azerbaijan has announced full support for Pakistan and expressed a strong solidarity with his government and people.
In a formal letter addressed to the Prime Minister of Pakistan, the Azerbaijan government expressed concern about the current situation and condemned the recent actions of the Indian Army.
The message was delivered by Azerbaiyan ambassador to Pakistan, Khazar Farhadov, who transmitted a special support note from his government.
According to an official statement, Azerbaijan extended sincere condolences to the families of those affected by recent hostilities and prayed for the rapid recovery of the injured.
The Azerbaijan government also requested a peaceful resolution to the dispute through diplomatic channels.
In his message, Ambassador Farhadov shared good wishes for the people of Pakistan, reaffirming Azerbaijan’s commitment to cooperation and support during this critical time.
The tensions between India and Pakistan have intensified after an attack in Jammu and Kashmir (Iiojk) illegally occupied, which resulted in the death of 22 tourists. India has accused Pakistan of participating in the incident, an accusation that Islamabad has strongly denied.
Following the attack, India announced the suspension of the Indo Water Treaty and the closing of the Wagah-Attari Earth’s crossing with Pakistan. The actions have generated a strong conviction of the National Security Committee (NSC) of Pakistan, which warned that any attempt to block the water flow would be considered an act of war under international law.
The situation intensified even more during the night of May 6 and 7, when the Indian forces, according to reports, launched missile attacks in six places inside Pakistan. According to the ISPR DG, at least 31 civilians, including women and children, were martyred and another 71 were injured in the strikes.
