Shusha, Azerbaijan: in a great advance, Pakistan and Azerbaijan signed on Friday a historical association agreement that raided the way for an investment of $ 2 billion in Pakistan.

The agreement reflects the continuous flow of investment in Pakistan under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif.

In the presence of the Prime Minister, the Deputy Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Muhammad Ishaq Dar, and the Minister of Economy Azerbaijan, Mikayil Jabbarov, signed the agreement of a total investment of $ 2 billion by Azerbaijan in the economic sector of Pakistan. The Pakistani delegation was also present on the occasion.

The agreement was signed between the two countries after a cordial meeting between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the president of Azerbaiyani, Ilham Aliyev, in Khankandi.

The final and detailed agreement will be signed during the visit of the president of Azerbaijan to Pakistan.

The agreement has raised investment and trade relations between the two countries to a historical level. It is expected to serve as a milestone to further strengthen fraternal ties and improve trade associations.

Before the recent visit of the Prime Minister, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, the diplomatic mission of Pakistan and the relevant delegations reached a consensus on several aspects of the agreement.

Both countries also agreed more exchanges destined to promote cooperation in multiple sectors.

In statements to the media in Shusha, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that Pakistan and Azerbaijan had signed an investment agreement of $ 2 billion, adding that future investments would increase the collector.

“We are grateful to the president of Azerbaijan for investing in Pakistan,” he said.

He added that he had a productive and significant meeting with the president of Azerbaijan.

The Prime Minister said that the Member Countries of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) had agreed to improve cooperation in commerce, investment, water resources and other sectors.

In addition, he said that member countries had also agreed to increase cooperation in the issue of glacier fusion.
