LAHORE: The former Captain Babar Azam has been told to improve his batting against the turn and increase his general attack rate to be considered for Twenty20 Internationals, coach Mike Hesson said.
Babar is the batting pillar of the national team in other formats, but has not played a T20 International since its tour of South Africa at the end of last year.
The 30 -year -old could not find a place in the Pakistan team for the Asia Cup next month, since the team’s management showed faith in the increase of players as Sahibzada Farhan.
“There is no doubt that Babar has been asked to improve in some areas around and in terms of its attack rate,” HESSON said about the first -order batter that has a modest attack rate of 129 in international T20.
“Those are things that are working very hard. But at this time the players we have, they have done so exceptionally.
“Sahibzada Farhan has played six games and won three game player awards.”
Babar should use the Big Bash League in Australia to improve its batting of the 20 and the return, HESSON said.
“A player like Babar has the opportunity to play at the BBL and show that he is improving in those areas in T20. He is a player too good not to consider,” he said.
Pakistan will begin his campaign of the Asia Cup against Oman in Dubai on September 12 before meeting with the Indian Archirival in the same place two days later.
