Babusar Top turns white in May

Balakot:

Intermittent snowfalls have continued in Babusar Top, a popular tourist destination in the Kaghan Valley, since tourist crowds come to experience a winter situation in May.

Tourists who escape heat in other regions delight in the cold climate and celebrate in the snow. Until now, more than five inches of snow have been recorded in Babusar Top.

Due to the snowfall, the authorities temporarily suspended traffic on the Babusar Top highway for security reasons. However, the road has reopened after climatic conditions improved.

Other higher areas of the Kaghan Valley, such as Jalkhad, Besal and Lulusar’s mountains, also received snowfall, bringing the winter cold back to the region.

The valley now resembles January more than in June, and tourists completely enjoy cold and refreshing climate.

According to the Department of Meteorology of Pakistan (PMD), the current rain and snow spell can continue during the next 12 hours, which can cause more temperature drops.

In Balakot, on Saturday he saw a mixture of clouds and sun, while the rains and snowfall in the surrounding highlands joined the beauty and charm of the city.

With continuous climate change, the traditional sequence of four different seasons in the Kaghan valley is gradually fading.
