- Samsung Galaxy’s tri-fold phone can be launched only in China and Korea, if a new rumor is something to happen
- In addition, a new patent presentation suggests that Samsung has created a design for a quadruple phone with three hinges
- Samsung has not recognized the rumor or patent
In the first unpaid event of Samsung Galaxy of this year, Samsung hinted that he is working on a multiple phone, also known as a tri-gloss telephone, which since then is known in the rumor factory such as the Samsung Galaxy G fold.
However, a new rumor suggests that Samsung’s enthusiastic fans in many parts of the world could be disappointed by the availability of the Galaxy G fold in the launch.
As GSMARENA reports, listings were discovered in the GSM association database for two new Samsung model numbers, SM-F968N and SM-F9680. It is suspected that these refer to the supposed multiple phone.
The report adds that Samsung usually uses the suffix N for phones for its local South Korean market, while a code that ends at 0 denotes a Chinese release.
There are no other listings for the SM-F968 at this time, which suggests that the phone will arrive in China and Korea first.
It is also possible that Samsung is not planning a broader launch for the Galaxy G Fold: we previously saw a similar launch for the Samsung Galaxy Z fold in October 2024, and that phone has not yet appeared in stores outside China and Korea.
However, this would seem like a strange choice considering that the company previously mocked multiple devices in the unpaid event of Samsung Galaxy by Samsung Galaxy in January.
A fourth fold?
Although we have not even had an official confirmation of a Samsung specific tri-spot device, another rumor suggests that the company could be advancing with the next stage of the evolution of the folding phone.
A patent discovered by Sammobile shows that Samsung has patented a new design that would allow a folding telephone of three skins of three sinches.
The design presents a hinge right in the middle of the internal screen, with the phone bending in each side.
We do not know if Samsung intends to make this design a reality in the short term, it could be an example of them sitting in intellectual property.
In any case, if Samsung jumps to the West with Fold Galaxy G, I hope we are at least considered for any quadruple phone that appears in the coming years.
