Joey Molland, the last surviving member of Badfinger, He died at the age of 77.

On Sunday, the official website Damned Announced heartbreaking news of Molland’s death.

“Well, the day we never wanted to see has arrived,” the statement began. “Joey (Joseph Charles) Molland died last night, surrounded by Mary, her two children and other family members at 11:39 PM CST”.

“When I receive information about the arrangements, I will publish them here,” the statement continued. “I was in bed when it happened … and I woke up with this news, so I regret the delay. I have already seen some publications in my personal feed and sent half a dozen pm this morning. (Thank you for the sympathies).”

“Needless to say, although I knew that the situation was bad, it was still a shock for the system. I am sure that if you are reading this for the first time, it is also a shock for yours.

The cause of Molland’s death has not yet been revealed.

The sad news occurred after Molland Mary’s girlfriend shared on social networks that the musician was in the ICU in December and established a Gofundme page in January to facilitate her medical expenses.

The legendary guitarist of the 70s joined Badfinger, Previously known as Iveys, in 1969 and served as a composer, main singer and guitarist.

Other members of the band were Pete Ham, who died for suicide in 1975, and Tom Evans, who took his life eight years ago.

He was also close friends of Beatles Members, played the guitar in a catalog of songs by John Lennon.
