Bagas electrical plants have also requested the Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) for the reduction of the electricity rate, an application that if approved can cause cheaper electricity of these plants.
Nine Bagazo power plants have requested a reduction in fuel costs and have proposed to fix 17% gains margins by reducing the return of electricity production.
A 10% reduction in maintenance and operating costs has also been requested. They have also requested a 0.7% reduction in insurance rates. Bagazo electric power plants have requested permission to sell electricity in the open market.
Bagazo is the dry and fibrous material that remains after sugar or sorghum stems are crushed to extract their juice. It is a byproduct of the sugar production process.
