Baluchistan tables on the RS1TR budget for fiscal year 2016 with jobs, relief in the approach

The Baluchistan government on Tuesday announced a budget of RS1,028 billion for fiscal year 2025–26 (FY26), with a surplus of 42 billion RS42 and an approach to relief and public welfare.

Presenting the budget, Baluchistan finance minister, Mir Shoaib Nosherwani, said that RS642 billion had been reserved for non -development expenses, while RS249.5 billion for the Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) in the 2010–26 fiscal year were proposed.

Nosherwani said that the total estimated expenses for the next fiscal year 2016 were from RS986 billion, while the volume of current operating expenses had decreased from 43 billion to RS33 billion.

“The Government has improved provincial income and established an objective to generate RS 226 billion in income in the next fiscal year,” he said.

“Development subsidies of RS66.5 billion have been estimated for projects financed by the Federal Government and RS 38 billion as assistance of foreign projects (FPA) despite the provincial development program in fiscal year 2025–26”.

He added that under the development budget, RS 249.5 billion would spend at approximately 3,633 schemes in progress and 2,550 new development projects, with 18 billion RS destined to the installation of safe cities projects in eight cities in the next fiscal year.

The finance minister announced that 4,500 million rupees had been proposed in terms of capital expenses for the purchase of necessary equipment and machinery, RS6 billion less than the previous year, and the RS113 billion had been designated as subsidies for the departments.

Nosherwani also declared that the provincial government had successfully spent the entire development budget for the current fiscal year.

When qualifying education, health, climate change, law and order as priorities of the provincial government, the minister announced the creation of 4,188 regular employment employment and 1,958 to provide employment to the youth of the province.

To improve the economic condition of employees, the minister said the Government had increased the salaries of employees of degrees 1 to 22 by 10%.

Meanwhile, the provincial government announced a 7% increase in pensions for retired employees.

“The budget is based on the real needs of the province, economic capacity and land realities, with the aim of guaranteeing balanced development in urban and rural areas,” said Nosherwani.

The RS55.19 billion development budget has been assigned to the Department of Communication and Works, which is a 19% increase compared to the current year, for the construction of roads and the update of the existing infrastructure, according to the minister.

“The Government has reserved a development budget of RS42.78 billion so that the irrigation sector promotes agriculture and manages water resources. Large investments are being made in dams, channels and water storage systems.”

Nosherwani said that RS24.84 billion would be channeled to the development of the education, secondary and higher education sector, to improve educational infrastructure, hire teachers and introduce modern facilities.

“RS16.15 billion have been allocated to the development budget for the improvement of hospitals, the recruitment of medical personnel and the acquisition of modern medical care equipment in fiscal year 26,” the minister announced.

For the Department of Information Science and Technology, he said that RS12.66 billion had been assigned. As part of the vision of “Baluchistan Digital”, the Government will promote electronic government, Internet access and technology -promoted services, according to the provincial minister.

“RS17.16 billion will be spent on providing clean drinking water to the residents of the province, together with the improvement of the sewerage and the wastewater management solutions throughout the province,” said the Minister of Finance.

To strengthen municipal institutions and solve local problems efficiently, Shoaib said that RS12.91 billion had been reserved for the local government department in the new budget.

In addition, an amount of RS10.17 billion had been allocated to agriculture to support farmers through seeds, fertilizers and modern agricultural tools.

It was added that RS7.84 billion would be spent in the energy department, focused on energy distribution and the installation of renewable energy projects to address load deployment and increase energy reliability.

A total of RS567.6 million has been reserved for the Department of Mines and Minerals to develop the rich mineral resources of Baluchistan through modern and efficient methods.

An estimated amount of RS154 million has been reserved for the empowerment of women in areas such as education, medical care and economic participation, according to the minister.
