- New “Wide Stage technology” for an expanded soundstage
- 10 controllers and 10 amplifiers to drive them
- 3 finishes and an ultra-rare Haute edition
Bang & Olufsen has introduced a new elite sound bar, the Beosound Premiere. With 10 custom drivers driven by 10 individual amps, it is extraordinarily powerful and, as you can see from the photos, extraordinarily beautiful as well.
Bang & Olufsen describes it as a three-dimensional sculpture “reflecting the three-dimensional sound it produces” and in addition to its precision-machined casing, it features 90 LEDs that promise to offer “an ethereal glow within the soundbar.”
The soundbar is made from pure aluminum and comes in a choice of natural, gold or anthracite black tone, and there is also a very limited Haute edition of just 25 units with a precision-milled pattern that B&O says takes 17 hours to complete.
Beosound Premiere: key features and prices
The debut of Beosound features Bang & Olufsen’s new Wide Stage technology. It is a spatial audio processing system that, according to the brand, expands the soundstage far beyond the physical form of the speakers.
The circle in the middle of the soundbar is an upward-firing tweeter “designed to capture attention like a jewel,” and it’s certainly striking. Less obviously, there are exactly 1,925 precision-machined perforations in the engine pointing upward to commemorate the year Bang & Olufsen was founded.
In addition to the new Wide Stage technology signal processing, Beosound Premiere can also be combined with other Bang & Olufsen speakers to create a complete 7.1.4 surround sound system, complete with Dolby Atmos support.
The launch of Beosound Premiere will be carried out in stages. The Natural Aluminum model will be available from December 2025 and can be ordered from today for delivery scheduled from December 3; the Gold Tone will be available in February 2026; and the Black Anthracite will be available from March 2026. The Haute Edition is already available, but not for long given the small production.
The Beosound Premiere Standard Editions cost £3,900 / €4,900 / $5,800 (approximately AU$7,835) and the Haute Edition costs £11,000 / €13,000 / $15,700 (approximately AU$22,100). Bang & Olufsen also offers a selection of fabric covers and wooden covers.
At that price, I’m not sure it’ll find a place on our list of the best sound bars (we have to assume it’ll be a bit marginal when it comes to bang for the buck), but when it comes to sheer presence, it looks like B&O has another big design win on its hands.
