BD military delegation meets Pakistan Navy commanders to discuss defense cooperation

Lieutenant General SM Kamrul Hassan, Principal Staff Officer (PSO) of Bangladesh Armed Forces Division, on Sunday visited senior officials of Pakistan Navy to discuss regional security and bilateral defense cooperation.

General Hassan met Pakistan Fleet Commander Rear Admiral Abdul Munib; Commander Costa, Rear Admiral Faisal Amin; and Director General of Karachi Shipyard & Engineering Works (KS&EW), Rear Admiral Salman Ilyas.

The meetings were aimed at strengthening professional ties and addressing issues of mutual interest, according to a statement from the Directorate General of Public Relations (Pakistan Navy).

During his visit, General Hassan also toured the ships and units of the Pakistan Navy. The discussions focused on enhancing regional maritime security and deepening defense collaboration between Pakistan and Bangladesh.

Possible areas of cooperation were explored, including joint military exercises, reciprocal visits and training exchange programs. The visit is considered a significant step towards strengthening the defense relationship between the two nations.

The ongoing engagements are expected to further solidify ties between the armed forces of Pakistan and Bangladesh, helping to strengthen defense ties in the region.
