Roethlisberger expressed skepticism about the idea that the 41 -year -old field will be under the center beyond the 2025 season.
“I don’t think I have much more after this year,” said Roethlisberger during a recent “Footbahlin” podcast episode.

Roethlisberger cited Rodgers’ trip back from his Achilles injury that ended the season in 2023. The legend of the Steelers recalled how he felt after he worked from a serious injury in the elbow he suffered in 2019 and suggested that Rodgers could have a similar experience.

“This could be for him, personally. I’m just guessing. Leaving my elbow, my first year back, I felt that I was 100 years old. You don’t realize that you don’t have 100 until next year, when you’re 100 years old,” said the two -time Super Bowl winner.
“It will come, one year last year in his Achilles. He probably says: ‘I felt quite well.’ This year, it will be better in the sense that (your) feels better.

“I think this could be his last attempt.”
Roethlisberger spent two more seasons in Quarterback with the steelers after the elbow injury.
The Steelers also confirmed that Rodgers would use the number 8 this season, the same number he had with the New York Jets.
Rodgers’ name became synonymous with No. 12 during his long term with the Green Bay Packers. Terry Bradshaw used the number 12 during his historic race with the Steelers.
