Ben Shelton will return to the hard court at the National Center for National Tennis of USTA Billie Jean King for the Third Round action at the US 2025 Open.
Shelton defeated Pablo Carreño Busta in correct sets in a second round male singles match on Wednesday. After the victory, Shelton sent questions from the members of the media. But the 22 -year -old American tennis star ended up listening to a question from an unexpected visitor from the press conference room.
The star of the National Women’s Soccer team of the United States, Trinity Rodman, who publicly recognized his romance with Shelton earlier this year, cheered for the sixth tennis player in the world of stands during the second round match.

Rodman joined the little characteristic speeds of Shelton’s services during Wednesday’s competition.
“So how did you feel not being able to serve faster than 135 (MPH) today?” Rodman joked Shelton.

A visibly surprised Shelton responded by asking an unknown person, who was not seen in a video posted in the US Open Social Networks account: “Why did you give a question?”

“I just know that you like to serve big, and today I wasn’t breaking 140,” Rodman continued.
Shelton then offered an explanation.
“Yes, it was cold outside,” he replied. “Then, I think that was the main reason. I was focused on hitting points, and I didn’t hit those points. Then, maybe it should serve bigger, but something that definitely works next time.”

In addition to playing for the USWNT, Rodman competes at the Club level for Washington Spirit in the NWSL. She is the daughter of the five -time NBA champion Dennis Rodman.
On Sunday, Shelton recognized the effort that Rodman made to support him in the US Open this year.
“My girlfriend took California’s red eye last night to be here,” said Shelton.
Shelton will meet Adrian Mannarino in the third round on Thursday.
