Bethenny Frankel defends Bad Bunny after Jill Zarin’s criticism at the Super Bowl

Bethenny Frankel defended Bad Bunny after her ex Real Housewives of New York City His co-star Jill Zarin criticized his Super Bowl LX halftime performance.

Frankel took to TikTok to post a video on February 9 to praise the Puerto Rican rapper’s set as authentic and inspiring.

“Bad Bunny is a Puerto Rican man in the United States on the biggest stage in the world, which is very inspiring for people because he is the one expressing his experience in his first language,” he explained.

Frankel compared his art to that of country and hip hop artists, saying that each genre reflects its own culture and struggles.

“If it’s a country artist, he’s expressing his experience, his music and his culture. If he’s a hip hop artist, I love Notorious BIG and I talk about him coming out and what he couldn’t afford when he was having sardines for dinner.”

He summed it up with a nod to Madonna: “Express yourself.”

Zarin had a very different reaction to the mesmerizing star-studded performance at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

In a now-deleted video, he called the halftime show “the worst ever” and criticized Bad Bunny for performing in Spanish and for his stage gestures.

“You have all these little kids watching the Super Bowl, and he doesn’t have to hold on every five seconds because it’s so insecure,” he said, adding that he wishes he understood the lyrics since he doesn’t speak Spanish.

The 62-year-old’s comments quickly circulated online, sparking backlash.
