Police in Texas have identified a man from abroad as the person who allegedly made death threats aimed at Houston stars Lance McCullers Jr. and his family after his poor start against the Cincinnati Reds last month.

“The researchers spoke with him and declared that he had lost money by betting on the game of the stars and was frustrated and energetic when he lashed out on social networks,” said the spokesman. “He apologized and asked for researchers to transmit their apologies to the McCullers family.”
The stars hired 24 -hour security for McCullers and their family after he informed having received online threats to the team. The stars also contacted MLB Security and the Houston Police Department with those concerns.

McCullers, who returned this year after missing two complete seasons with injuries, said that treating threats has been the worst that has happened during his career.

“People should want us to succeed,” said the father of two. “We want to succeed, but should not have a cost for our families, children in our lives, having to feel that they are not sure where they live or where they sit in the games.”
The man in the center of those threats has not been identified because no charges have been presented, police said. ESPN reported That the case remains open.
