Big East Tournament: Caitlin Clark saw the butler team of the boyfriend

Caitlin Clark is ready to face the WNBA in the second year with Indiana’s fever, but first, she had to keep her boyfriend in the university stage.

Clark’s boyfriend, Connor McCaffrey, is an assistant coach of the Butler Bulldogs, and had a confrontation against St. John’s in the Big East tournament on Thursday at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Clark was seen using a butler’s hat near the team’s bank, and just as he was seeing his old Iowa Hawkeyes playing in the Big Ten tournament, she was animated during the whole game that finally ended up in defeat by her team.

St. John’s, the favorite to win the Big East title as the number 1 sown defeated Butler, 78-57, to advance to the semifinals of the tournament, which will be played on Friday.

With 14-19, it is safe to say that Butler will not go to the NCAA tournament this year despite its best efforts.

McCaffrey is the son of the legendary male basketball coach of Hawkeyes, Fran McCaffrey, and the 6-foot and 5-inch guard played in Iowa since 2017-23, where he averaged 6.5 points and 4.1 rebounds per game in 166 competitions.

The young McCaffrey is following in the footsteps of his father now, when he joined Butler’s staff in September 2024 as an assistant coach after serving previously in a role as Basketball Development Coordinator with the NBA Indiana Pacers.

Being in Indianapolis made sense from a point of view, since Clark also played his fever games in the Gainbridge Fieldhouse, the same house as the Pacers. Clark became the rookie of the year 2024 of the WNBA, breaking numerous rookie and league records in just his first season.

Clark and McCaffrey have been dating for almost two years.

The Butler season of McCaffrey may be coming to an end, but Clark will be underway in May when the fever is taken in the sky of Chicago to start the 2025 campaign.
