Bilawal hits PTI’s ‘fascist’ government in KP

Islamabad/Quetta:

The president of the Peoples Party of Pakistan, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, accused the Government of Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf, led by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) to try to protect the “unbridled corruption” by blocking the PPP’s peaceful protest, calling to measure a failed attempt to suppress the disc.

In a statement, Bilawal condemned the use of tear gas against PPP political workers, who had taken to the streets in KP to protest against illegality and increased unemployment in the province.

“It is deeply unfortunate that peaceful political workers were attacked with tear gas bombings,” he said, added: “We are not the ones who submit to such cheap tactics. Our search for this corrupt and incompetent provincial government will continue.”

The president of the PPP further criticized the administration of KP led by PTI, qualifying its action against unarmed political activists as an act of cowardice. “Unleashing violence in unarmed workers, the PTI government has shown its true colors,” he added.

Bilawal said the “Save the Province” Movement (rises Bachao Tehreek) had now become the voice of each citizen of KP. “We will not be intimidated by the canes and the brute force,” he said.

He argued that PPP workers were fully prepared to face the corrupt KP government. “The people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have seen the real fascist face of the provincial government of the PTI,” he added.

Meanwhile, the governor of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Faisal Karim Kundi, also raised serious concerns regarding the performance of the provincial government, accusing him of generalized corruption and a lack of maintenance of the law and order.

While talking with journalists outside the Baluchistan assembly, Governor Kundi criticized the provincial government, claiming that the key members of the provincial cabinet, including the executive director, were involved in greater financial misconduct.

He said that poor management and embezzlement that involve billions of rupees had weakened the governance structure and left the public without relief.

He expressed alarm for the security situation, claiming that the provincial authorities had effectively yielded the land to the militant elements. “The public is suffering, but those responsible are not responding. The terrorist groups are acting freely, and the government seems unable to stop them,” he added.

Referring to a recent bombing that claimed the lives of several children, the governor said that the incident highlighted a pattern of repeated security failures.

He pointed out that similar attacks had taken place in the past, particularly in Khyber, and regretted that vulnerable communities remained frequent objectives of such violence.
