However, multiple reports indicated that the general manager of North Carolina, Michael Lombardi, and the professional link Frantzy Jourdain informed their own team last month that the explorers were prohibited.

Belichick approached the situation after he collected the first university victory of his career.

“It is clear that I am not welcome around its facilities,” he told reporters, through Tar Heel Tribune. “Then, they are not welcome in ours. It is quite simple.”

It is not clear what happened in recent weeks that led to a bad apparent blood between Belichick and the organization of the Patriots. Belichick and the Patriots separated after the 2023 season with both calling the friendly decision.

The owner of the Patriots team, Robert Kraft, said at the beginning of the week that Belichick would get his own statue in front of the Gillette stadium.

“When that great efficiency of 20 years ended, it was always my intention to order a statue for Tommy and Bill when their respective races ended, playing and training. When Bill’s race ends, we hope to sit with him and have a statue to be right next to Tommy,” Kraft told CBS News.

The current chief coach of the Patriots, Mike Vrabel, made a crack on Belichick and North Carolina losing to TCU in an explosion during the first full week of the university football season. He said he was not sure of how fast Belichick could win, noting that Urban Meyer won his first 12 games when he took over in the state of Ohio.
