The NFL team won by the Super Bowl at the end of the season receives the Vince Lombardi trophy.
Lombardi was the chief coach of the Green Bay Packers when he took the team to two consecutive victories about the American Football League champions: the Kansas City Chiefs and Oakland Raiders, respectively. It was not until the third NFL-AFL championship game that the term Super Bowl was used.

Lombardi’s Packers were one of the most dominant teams of the time. He had taken Green Bay to three other NFL championships before the idea of an NFL vs. was conceived. AFL.
Due to the story, the Super Bowl trophy is named Lombardi. It is one of the most prestigious trophies in sports, next to the Lord Stanley Cup and the FIFA World Cup trophy.
The legendary chief coach Bill Belichick discussed the Super Bowl with Jim Gray in the “Come on!” podcast. He told Gray that it was the players who really deserved the credit for the victory of the Super Bowl. The legendary sports reminded Belichick that it was Lombardi of whom the trophy was named and not Bart Starr, who was the MVP of the first two games.
“Maybe they should name the Brady Trophy,” Belichick joked, referring to the legend of New England patriots, Tom Brady. “He won seven of them.”

Belichick said teams cannot win without good players. He said he learned that when he was a defensive coordinator under Bill Parcells with the New York giants and when he helped elaborate a tremendous defense of the Hall of Fame with the Patriots.

“You can’t win games without good players. I don’t care who the coach is. It’s impossible. You can’t win without good players,” he said. “I discovered it when I had (Lawrence) Taylor, (Carl) Banks, Harry Carson, Jim Burt, Everson Walls, all those guys with the giants.
“The same when we got good in Cleveland and in New England is (Willie) McGINST, is (Mike) Vrababel, It’s (Tedy) Bruschi, it’s Corey Dillon, it’s Randy Moss, Troy Brown, lawyer Malloy, Ty Law, Rodney Harrison , Rody Harrison. Those are the boys who won the games.
