Billy Joel has opened approximately a moment in her past and revealed that ex -wife Katie Lee gave her a firm ultimatum about her drink, which forced him to make a decision that changes his life.
In the new HBO documentary Billy Joel: And so he leavesThe 76 -year -old American singer and pianist talked about his drink problems and shared that his then wife, Lee, gave him an “ultimatum” to end his marriage or seek professional help.
Joel confessed that he went to rehabilitation in 2005 because his wife at that time pushed him.
Remembering that she told him, the Piano man Crooner said: “She said: ‘Or do something about your drink or this will not work.’ At that time, yes, the relationship was not working well.”
He was then admitted to Batty Ford Center, who was against his will, while he joked: “With rehabilitation, you don’t go for someone else. You have to go for yourself. You have to want to do it. I didn’t want to do it.”
For the unreserved, Joel and Lee gathered with each other in an establishment in Manhattan in 2002. They quickly got along and ended up consolidating their relationship by binding the knot in 2004.
It is pertinent to mention that after six years of their relationship, the couple separated in 2009.
