The Intermediate and Secondary Education Board (BISE) Lahore has postponed intermediate and registration exams today due to the growing tensions between Pakistan and India.
The affected exams include Islamiyat (elective) and the principles of accounting theory exams for Part II, as well as a practical examination of computing sciences for matrix students.
A BISE spokesman confirmed the postponement, citing security concerns after military attacks between the two countries. The spokesman said that a new schedule for exams would be announced in due time.
The decision is produced in a greater military activity along the control line, after an Indian strike in multiple places in Pakistan.
In retaliation, Pakistan’s army knocked up five Indian combat aircraft and a combat drone in response to unprovoked aggression and airspace violations.
The authorities have urged students and the public to stay updated as the situation continues to develop.
Previously, the British Council Pakistan announced that all the exams scheduled for today will continue as planned, despite the main military tensions between Pakistan and India.
In an official statement published on its Facebook page, the organization said: “All exams scheduled for today will proceed as planned. We will keep it updated if there is any change.”
Students were advised to contact their respective schools, or the Customer Services Center in case of private candidates, for any consultation related to the exam.
