BISP chief promises justice and help for Rahim Yar Khan’s families


The families of the deceased women will receive Rs 1 million each, while the injured women will receive Rs 300,000 each.

Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) Chairperson Senator Rubina Khalid visited Sheikh Zayed Hospital following the tragic incident the previous day, where she inquired about the injured women and announced financial help for the affected families.

Provincial Assembly member Sardar Habibur Rehman, medical superintendent of the hospital and BISP officials were also present during the visit.

The President met the injured women, checked their condition and directed the authorities to ensure the provision of the best possible medical facilities and full support.

Speaking to the media, Senator Rubina Khalid said that a thorough investigation was being carried out into the incident and strict legal action would be taken against those responsible.

He added that BISP stipends are disbursed through partner banks and in this case, the bank concerned had been notified for alleged negligence, along with the imposition of a penalty.

He announced that the families of the deceased women would receive Rs 1 million each, while the injured women would receive Rs 300,000 each as financial assistance.
